Youth SHARE’s mission is to create opportunities for youth:
SERVICE – to serve in their community
HEALTH – to develop healthy habits and make healthy choices
ACHIEVEMENT – to achieve in all facets of life
RECREATION – to access positive recreation
EDUCATION – to embrace education outside the classroom
Goals & Objectives
To create community service opportunities for youth (8 – 18) where typically young people have been excluded from services.
To offer active recreational opportunities in a natural environment in keeping with the Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights with the goal of personal health, fitness and obesity prevention (day and overnight programs in community, national and international locations).
To create opportunities for youth to achieve personal goals and attainment of national certification ranging from first aid certification to Leave No Trace certification specifically to encourage career exploration.
To create positive recreation opportunities for under-served youth in communities where little or no services exist and gang, drugs and alcohol are prevalent.
To offer experiential educational opportunities (outside of the typical classroom setting) to engage youth, ranging from initial exposure during a field trip to apprenticeship opportunities.
To augment existing school and afterschool programs in the public-private sector through partnership with YouthSHARE.
